Hedwig's theme
Katleigh & Bree
From the Matchmakers
(BREE, 18, and KATLEIGH, 16, are at the mall.)
KATLEIGH: Your parents are getting divorced?!
BREE: Yep.
KATLEIGH: Are you serious?
BREE: Apparently the marriage counselor convinced them.
KATLEIGH: Oh my God!
BREE: I know. My parents can't get divorced, it's not -
KATLEIGH (cutting her off): This is horrifying. This could happen to anyone. What if it happened to me and Chase?
BREE: You're not married. You can't get divorced.
KATLEIGH: Check it out! (She shows her ring finger.) I'm getting married! Woo!
BREE: That's a class ring.
KATLEIGH: We're using it as an engagement rint until he can save up enough money to buy one. I'm getting married!
BREE: You're sixteen.
KATLEIGH: I know! How awesome is this?!
BREE: You can't get married at sixteen.
KATLEIGH: My mom totally approves. But here's the best part: I want you to be my maid of honour.
BREE: Really?
KATLEIGH: Please? It would mean so much to me.
BREE: This seems a little rushed, Katleigh.
KATLEIGH: When you know, you know. He's the one. It's just like that Taylor Swift song. Love story. It came true.
BREE: Okay.
KATLEIGH: What's your deal?
BREE: I'm just not all that keen on love right now. I mean, my parents have been together for twenty-three years and all of a sudden -
KATLEIGH: That's because they weren't soul mates like me and Chase. We know about love.
BREE: I'm sure you do.
KATLEIGH: You know what you need, Bree? A new boyfriend.
BREE: I just dumped my old boyfriend!
KATLEIGH: And now you're single. Which is another word for desperate.
BREE: You can be single and not desperate.
KATLEIGH: Please. I think I know a little bit more about this than you do. I haven't been single for more than two days since the fourth grade. And believe me, fourth grade was a pretty dark time in my life.
BREE: I'm fine with being single.
KATLEIGH: Oh, Bree. You make me smile sometimes. We'll get you through this together. The first question you need to ask yourself is: what is wrong with me that I cannot accept love?
BREE: What?
KATLEIGH: You had a perfectly good guy -
BREE: He took me to Wendy's for homecoming.
KATLEIGH: So?
BREE: So that's ridiculous.
KATLEIGH: Maybe the fault was with you, huh? Maybe the Wendy's... is inside you.
BREE: That doesn't make any sense at all.
KATLEIGH: Whenever I have a problem with Chase or he does something I don't like, I take a step back and think, how did I cause Chase to behave like that? Men are like dogs, Bree. You have to train them. And if they misbehave, then you've failed in your training. They can't help it. You didn't give Devin the right road map for homecoming, so he disappointed you.
BREE: You're a little bit insane, you know that?
KATLEIGH: But I'm happy, and isn't that what matters? Let's go get a smoothie.
BREE: I can't, I gotta go help my dad move out.
Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Been spending most of the time since I came home from school trying to memorize the new script I got yesterday in drama. It's two girls, Bree and Katleigh (I'm Katleigh and my friend Nicole is Bree). I'll write down the whole script for you in the next post. I'm trying to get into character too, it's quite hard even though I feel like I got the easier of the two parts because Katleigh is more.. insane than Bree. I feel like the weirder, the easier to connect with. Not saying that I'm insane (not saying that I'm not), but it's easier to give life to a character that's more charasteristic (?).
Also been watching videos on youtube with random actors talking about characters they've played. It's given some kind of inspiration. Mostly Helena Bonham Carter of course. Some Anne Hathaway as well.
Some ten year old boys performing at the Indian festival thing I went to a few weeks ago. They were absolutely brilliant!! Filmed some of it, will post it as soon as I figure out how to.
Peter and Sheila at Starbucks
Bloody brilliant
So anyways. Had choir practice as usual this morning. It was good fun, since I'm the only non-Canadian/Asian, I was also the only one being able to pronounce the lyrics for the German song we're singing and eventually performing. I read two lines, they followed. Then we sang it. I read two lines, they followed, then we sang it and so on 'til the end of the song.
Blues Monday today and therefor no dancing. Blues Mondays are every other Monday, and on these Mondays we get off one hour earlier. There are never any danceclasses on Blues.
Found out on my way home from school that my friend Sheldon moved from Maple Ridge (which is a good twenty minutes by car away from here) to Heritage Woods (where I live) yesterday, so we'll be taking the same bus in the mornings and after school.
Time to do some history stuff. And my room smells like Christmas because of my oranges with cloves in them! Bloody brilliant.
Snow on the ground everywhere nowadays, this picture is taken outside the Scandinavian Centre
This is the sailing place that I've been to twice with my friend Katrina and her family that's half Swedish. I even got to go out in a boat, it was superfun! (And slippery, almost fell off as I was sitting on the edge.)
You can't really tell from the picture, but this house, across the street from where Katrina lives, was absolutely covered in Halloween decorations.
While we were watching the Halloween fireworks from Maddie's balcony, something went wrong and all of a sudden, fire just shot from one side of the field to the other, and made a wall of fire. It was pretty scary, but it went down almost as sudden as it had shown up.
Do we have this kind of leaves in Sweden? They kind of remind me of something disgusting I ate when I was little, that we can't figure out what it was. I can feel the taste in my mouth as soon as I think of them, and it makes me just wanna throw up a little bit. So I took a picture of them.

I wish I had a British accent rather than this boring Canadian one I've got now that everyone speaks. I got one now that I've been spending the last hour watching interviews with the Harry Potter cast, I take on accents when I speak English rather easily, I think that's why I had a more American accent than most Swedes even before I came here, even though my Swedish accent was definitely stronger than it is now, it wasn't as strong as most people. I suck at mimicking accents in Swedish though, probably because I'm more used to the Stockholm accent than I am to speaking English in general. The British one I've got right now will be gone by tomorrow morning though, and I will have gone back to the old boring Canadian one. Yes, there's a difference between Canadian and American. There is a difference in the speaking in general that I can't tell, but Canadians say certain words differently, like they say again like agäjn rather than the American agänn. And about like aboot rather than the American abaut. Not quite there yet.
In case you were wondering.
Bedtime now and up in a few hours for choir practice! Goodnight!

Ellos son mis canciones más escuchan. No incluido ABBA porque it would take me diez años para upload todas.
Pulling up to the parties, trying to get a little bit tipsy
Why?!
Pysslade lite själv i min ensamhet.
Two hours and thirty minutes of pure heaven
It was like the best two hours and thirty minutes of my life since the last one came out. W.O.W. Blimey, they're so brilliant (<--- typical Ron-language, he keeps saying "blimey" and "brilliant" in every sentence). They really are, all of them. It's like they took all the best actors in the world and put them in the movies that are based upon the best books that have ever been written. It's like two hours and thirty minutes of pure heaven (kind of ironic considering how dark the movies really are, but whatever). I was positively surprised by Emma Watson's (Hermione) performance in this movie. I've never really liked her as much as the others, I always thought she was being a bit over-dramatical and a bit cheesy, but she was one of my favorites in this one. Along with Harry, Ron, Bill Weasley, Bellatrix, Fred, George, Voldemort and Luna Lovegood. Yeah, pretty much everyone. One thing I missed in the movie was all the Fred and George stuff that was in the book. In the beginning, George loses his ear, and in the book, he and Fred are constantly making all these hilarious ear-jokes. It pretty much never happens in other books, but whenever I read the Harry Potter books, they make me laugh out loud, which is pretty much impossible. It's only happened so far in Harry Potter and Donald Duck.
It was awesome. Endlessly amazing. I'm going to go and see it at least once more. And when I get back to Sweden, I'm gonna kickstart my acting career for real. This would be a way better place to do it, because it's the third largest film city in the world (number one is Bollywood, then Hollywood, and third Vancouver), and a lot of movies were filmed here (it's funny because whenever I watch a movie, I keep recognizing myself and I realize it was shot here). But since I'm not a Canadian citizen and I don't have a VISA, I can't get paid, and so I can't work. I can do anything as long as I don't get paid, but pretty much everything here is big stuff that you get paid big money for. Like for example, my friend Peter worked for five days on a tv-show called Supernatural, a tv-show called Hellcats and a movie that's gonna be showing soon in the theatres called Tron: Legacy, and he got around eleven thousand dollars for those five days of work. I'm a wee bit jealous, I must say.
Tomorrow morning I have to get up as early as seven o'clock, because I'm going to be helping out with the Christmas market at the Scandinavian Centre. It really starts at eleven, but apparently, I have to be there at eight because my ride has to be there at eight.
Goodnighty!

Vow of Silence
Believe me.
So today was a pretty interesting day. First of all, I didn't say one word during the entire school day. Wooow! I'm impressed. Well, I did cheat a little bit. Right when I came to school, and I saw Jenny and Naomi in the cafeteria on my way to vocal tech, I just completely forgot that I wasn't allowed to talk or communicate in any way (including texting, internet in general, sign language etc.), but the thought of the fact that we're going to see Harry Potter tomorrow just completely blew everything else out of my head. So I decided that when the first bell rings, that's when I stop talking. And I did. I didn't say one word. I mimed a lot, yes, and used a lot of sign language. But let's just decide I didn't communicate at all.
Now, the reason why I wasn't allowed to talk all day was because today was Vow of Silence Day. In solidarity of all the poor kids who are every day silenced by poverty and exploitation, everyone goes silent. It said everywhere all over the school, "Don't take your voice for granted because you never know when it will stop being heard". The whole school didn't go silent, but at least more than half. Last year, pretty much everyone went silent apparently. It caused some trouble for the teachers. Today was performance day in vocal tech, but only a few could talk. Today was also performance day in drama, but only very few could talk. Mr. Kent had (of course) a problem with that. It was sooo good to be able to just sit there and not do all the exercises in ten seconds because I didn't have to worry about him asking me a question. Best Spanish class ever. Last year, everyone in Spanish class was silent, so there wasn't much to do, as the only thing we ever do in Spanish class is to answer the questions mr. Kent asks us. Last year, he had no one to ask, so he simply enough didn't show up for the class. Haha!
Yeah, so everyone walked around with ducttape on their mouth all day. It was pretty awesome! Some people (Ben, cough cough) didn't make it. The people who weren't being silent were constantly trying to break the rest of us. Nicole managed to break Ben, and Courtney was this (-) close to breaking me.
Today was the Swedish school too. It wasn't Lucia practice, as I thought, that begins Thursday next week. A guy in the adult class asked me if I wanted to go to some place downtown on Sunday and get Dimmu Borgir's (a Norwegian death metal band) autograph. He told me to wear vampire fangs and red and white make-up. I said no.
TOMORROW'S HARRY POTTEEEERRRRR! I long for it so much I'll probably die in my sleep. I actually got nervous about it earlier today, when I really realized that I'm gonna see a new Harry Potter movie tomorrow for the very first time. HOW AWESOME?!

I'm an ordinary human instead of being a beautiful princess mermaid. I love that.
Mystery of the day; Okej.
Godnatt!

In Stiller Nacht
Der schöne Mond will untergeh'n
dem leid nicht mehr mag scheinen
Die Sterne fein im Glitzerschein
mit mir sie wollen weinen
Kein Vogelsang noch Freudenklang
man höret in den Lüften
Die wilden Tier' trauern auch mit mir
in Steinen und in Klüften
Auf Wiedersehen!
