John Frusciante

I just realized that I might have to go up one hour earlier tomorrow morning, because I might have choir practice tomorrow. I'm not sure, it's just something I think I just sort of told myself over and over again that I now believe it's true. I would be an easy target for someone like Hitler. When I was little, I told my friends Johanna and Sophie so many times that I had a horse named Miranda, that eventually, I was convinced I did, and I've asked mum several times like, what happened to Miranda? Tss.

Very well. I'll just go to school one hour earlier tomorrow just in case. And I still haven't found my book yet! I swear to Cheesus it was right on the floor next to my bed this morning.

Goodnight!

This is about how good it gets when it comes to my webcam + eleven o'clock at night. Looks more like Maria Montazami than me to be honest.

Caught up in circles, confusion is nothing new

Man ba, va?

Come from far away you to greet, you by the fire and we in the street

So yeah, anyways. This day kind of sucked complete horseshit. Got tricked by this "ooohh Swedish girl"-dude, he went totally mad when I said I'm from Sweden. I was looking for the Christmas parade I was going to, and as soon as I said "excuse me" (I'm not even kidding, that's all I said and I swear to Jesus, he asked me the question before I had time to finish saying "me"), he asked me if I'm from Germany. I said no, I'm from Sweden, and how did you know? And he said "I could tell by your accident. Now, I'm not saying that you have a strong accent, but you have a slight accent, yeah." And after that he said that, he went completely crazy, going "Oh really, you're from Sweden?" at least four times and highfived me twice because of that. Then I asked for the way to the parade, thought he'd know because he was handing out flyers with information about the parade. He said that he's an employee so he had a map in his pocket so that he would be able to tell people if they asked him, so he showed me on the map, and said that if I walk along Georgia Street for about seven blocks, and then make a right at Howe Street, and then walk until I get to the Howe/Davie intersection, I'll be right where the parade is. So I walked along Georgia. And walked. And walked. And walked. Eventually, I asked another person, and he said that it was way up right next to the Bay (which is where I asked the dude). So I started walking all the way back. Turns out Howe street was like three meters away from where I asked the dude for the way to it. I cursed him for fooling me and cursed the parade for by then having ended, so I looked for the nearest Subway and ate.

Tomorrow's choir performance in Lougheed Mall all day, and after school performance for the teachers. So no Spanish for me, wohoooo! Now I'm just gonna watch 50 first dates and then go to sleep. Goodnight!

Old picture taking in Hemlock up in the mountains

Sunday 5th of December

Holaaa! Gonna jump into the shower real quickly and then go down with Candace to see a Christmas parade downtown. Was at Candace's last night as well, we watched two really weird movies. Think I'm gonna go to IKEA after the parade, 'cause Candace has cheer, 'cause I need to buy kaviar. See you later alligator!

In lack of pictures from here, here's one from Edinburgh, Scotland, obviously

Norwegian

I wonder if my Canadian friend knows she liked a Norwegian thing on Facebook..

It's too small. It says "Eminem synger "I'm not afraid" og så er man egentlig livredd ;PPpPpPPPpp"

Saturday 4th of December

I'm supposed to be in the Danish church right now practising for the Lucia train. It didn't happen :(  Waited for the bus for half an hour, then realized that even if the bus would come now, it'd be too late. Hate the buses up here.

Anyways. Was bored after school yesterday and all my friends were working, so I went to IKEA and ate meatballs and drank julmust. Soooo good! Don't know what to do today, everyone is working today too. Gonna see if Candace wants to do something after her cheer-practice. Might go downtown before that.

See ya'll!

Eye-Toy at Candace´s :D

Sweet perfume and columbine

I DID IT!!!!! I managed to hand the law assignment in on time! I was so stressed out, really didn't think I had enough time. I even did one thing wrong that I didn't notice until right after I finished it, I was supposed to write three character analysises, and one of them was on the wrong person. But I added the right person during lunch break, so it's all good. Hopefully I'll get some bonusmarks for doing four instead of three analysises..

Vocal tech was so much fun today. We didn't do anything (not saying that singing isn't fun because it is, this day was just unusual but not better than the singing days!), we got to choose between practising in the recording studios or watching rock school have their jam, so me and Lillian chose to sit on the floor talking/sleeping. It was very good. Spanish was the same as always. Law as well, though handing that assignment in on time gave me such a rush and all I want to do right now is study, so I'm seizing the moment now because tomorrow that urge will be gone. In drama, me and Hannah were the only ones from our group there so we couldn't really work on our Medieval European Theatre project, so we were comparing how alike German and Swedish are (she's German). Found out that there's apparently a language in Sweden called Meänkieli (tornedalsfinska apparently).

Was supposed to go to the Scandinavian Centre after school, but I went to the mall to hang out with Candace after school for just a while, and thought that I'll come there in time for the adult class. And then Candace asked me if I wanted to go and hang out at her place, and how could I resist? We played something that me and my friend Molle always played in like 4th/5th grade on her PlayStation called EyeToy. It gave me such flashbacks and was so much fun! We also played this hilarious, really trippy Shrek-game on her PlayStation. It was so much fun. You were four different characters from Shrek, and you walked around killing knights, frogs and spiders. Oh, and giant tin men in gold.

Anyways, have to go to sleep now. Tomorrow's just a normal school day + dance & choir. Ballroom in danceclass, help! Goodnight!

I am so tired I think I'm gonna die. But no matter how tired I am, I have to stay awake until I finish this law assignment that is due tomorrow. I know that I shouldn't start on it now, but even though I knew all the time that it was due on December 2nd, I didn't realize that it's already December. Time just goes way too quickly here. But the assignment is looking good so far, even though I've basically done nothing. I'm supposed to write a summary of a movie called Presumed Innocent (with one my my favourite actors, Harrison Ford), plus character analysis of the three main persons, and legal terms and concepts used in the movie. So far, I've only done the character analysis of Harrison's character, started on one of the other ones, and written one sentence of the movie summary. Oh well, I'll just have to make sure to get this done as quickly as possible. I'll post it here when I'm done.

Today wasn't very unlike all the other days, except for the fact that we had a professional bellydancer to come in and teach us some basics in danceclass. It was so much fun, and I didn't do that bad! When it was time to perform, she divided us into two groups, and when my group performed in front of the other one, one of the guys in the group even pointed at me and I heard him saying to the person sitting next to him, "look at Rebecka, she's the only one who actually can do this stuff", haha! I honestly thought I was the worst one in the whole group, it all just felt so weird. The bellydancer is going to come in on Friday too, and give us a lesson in ballroom. That's gonna be scaaaryyyy!

The cast & crew of the zombiemovie I was in. Can you see me?

Happy Birthday

Me and brother Johnny are extremely beautiful

Cabron

Hejsaaaan! I can't really believe it either, but after I post this, I'm actually going to bed! I'm not gonna turn the light out, I'm gonna write in my diary and read a bunch in my book (still working on The Other Boleyn Girl) and the historybook. But still! It's bloody amazing.

Spent drama class in a filming booth with Courtney, Nicole, Sienna, Ben, Peter and Angie today, going through three stages. First stage; discovering how much more like a guy Justin Bieber sounds in his new song. Second stage; get paralyzed with amazement over the fact that he transformed from a six yearold girl to the 17-yearold guy he is in like a day. Third stage; tell the whole school.

Had a Spanish test as well today that did not go so well. Got I think 34/44. Oh well. Can't expect me to get great results two days in a row.

By the way. I just have to say this. Mr. Kent's teaching philosophy is completely mental. There was one thing on the test that I got wrong; I was supposed to write the verb in the present progressive, but apparently, I put it in the past progressive. What did I learn from it? Well, he did tell me how to conjugate a verb into the present progressive - but it's not like I remember it now. And it's not like no matter how many times I go over it, I'm never going to learn what reflexive pronouns, present progressive, possessive pronouns, reflexive pronouns in the past progressive is. And why do students take this course? Well, mostly because we have to, but what's the original idea? To learn Spanish. And what kind of Spanish am I learning when all we do in class is listening to mr. Kent only mentioning the terms, but never actually telling us how to conjugate them? And when to use them? This is a typical mr. Kent conversation;

- Keziah, translate that sentence for us.
Keziah tries and fails.
- No, not in the past progressive, you have to conjugate it into reflexive pronouns in the present progressive. Try again.
And then he keeps staring at Keziah, expecting the answer to magically pop into her head. And he stares at her until he finally says;
- Someone hasn't been brushing up on their conjugations.
When really, it's impossible to brush up on something we haven't covered yet. Dear jesus. And don't say "well, why don't you just tell him to go over things a bit more carefully". Believe me, ever since he came to this school God knows how many years ago, people have been trying to make him understand that it doesn't matter if you know what reflexive pronouns are, if you know how to use the verb. He asked me when someone asked him what past progressive is, "Rebecka, you should know, since you learned English". When I said no, he was all "well, oaföpsd..." mumbling all those weird things in Spanish that he does whenever he's proven wrong. Because how is it that I can speak English so fluently, without knowing when to conjugate a verb into past progressive?! Impossible!!!!! How is it that I can speak English, without thinking at every verb, "okay, so here I need to conjugate it into the past progressive". How is it that since third grade when I started learning English at school, I have never thought "okay, so here I need to conjugate it into the past progressive". I have never had to use no kind of verb-stem-changing-conjugation or whatever, maybe I'm magical, somehow I doubt it. Maybe it's just that once you get a hang of it, it'll come automatically. And "learning" it this way, we're never going to get a hang of it. I intend to learn how to speak Spanish fairly fluently enough, and so I'm going to have to learn it by myself because I sure won't learn it here. I'm in bloody grade twelve and I still don't know what nouns are! I can't even give you a definition of substantives. I'm a bad case, I know, but I have never needed it. I've studied Spanish for five and a half year now, and up until this point, I've never needed to know what a substantive is. This semester worth of learning Spanish, is about a week worth of learning with my previous teachers. That's how good a teacher mr. Kent is, and he is seriously getting on my last nerve. I wouldn't care if he was just telling us to learn this stuff, but being in that classroom is scary. I'm not even joking, or exaggerating at all. Being in that classroom, getting questioned and judged and even if you get the answer right, he pretends he didn't hear what you said and pretends that you said something completely different and starts yelling at you for saying the wrong thing, it's just nerve-wrecking. Because no matter if you say the right or wrong answer, he's going to get up and have a speech about you not being a reasonable person. Especially for me, because I have more school work to do than the other students because I have the history stuff to do for my Swedish school, so I don't have time to do what mr. Kent expects of me and study Spanish every day. Last week we had to do three exercises in the book for homework, and I did two out of them because I simply did not have time with having homework in every single one of the other three subjects, plus the Swedish school. And so he said that I'm being an unreasonable person, and that my number one priority is being a student. Don't you think that I just wanted to flick my wand and say "accio pie" and throw the pie in his face and say to him that my number one priority is the Swedish school, not this school because I don't get any credit for it, my grades are not for real, and the very least priority in this school is this class. At the beginning of the year I told him that my grades aren't for real and that if I ever don't have my homework done or whatever, it is not because I simply didn't want to do it which is what he's accusing me for, but because I had other stuff that are in priority. But he got it all wrong and eventually, it came down to him saying that he's glad that I have finally understood that I'm a student just like everyone else. But the thing is that I need him to understand that I can't study Spanish every day, because as it is now, he is going to have a talk with me every day because I don't study Spanish every day. And believe me, it is not pleasant and I swear to God, eventually I'm gonna start crying right in front of him! My friend Hailey is freaking out too because she has a speech problem, she can't pronounce u's, not in English, Spanish, Turkish, Arabic or whatever the heck the language might be. But he says everytime that he hears that she says the u's wrong, that she needs to learn how to pronounciate because otherwise she's going to fail, even though it's nothing she can controll.
AAARRRROEHÖFA<ODSFDMFDÅÄZKLZÖFDK-LFFDS

Okay. Now I freaked out for a second, I'm done ventilating. Going to bed to read, goodnighty mates!

Madeleine de la Tour d'Auvergne

Oh my Gooood, I'm finally done cleaning out my school folder! It took me five hours! Jeeeez! Didn't throw anything away, just moved all the texts from the folder to the notebooks and stuff.

I don't wanna go home from Canada yet!! What am I going to do without my friends?! I just realized I have some of my best friends here. What am I gonna do without Sheena, Lillian, Jenna, Courtney, Peter, Sheila, Candace, Maddie, Lisa, Cassy, Hannah and Jenny? What?! And the school!!!! What am I going to do in my old school when I've been to Port Moody and had drama with mr Watts and vocal tech with mrs Sluyter and law with mr Krahn and choir with mrs Sluyter and dance with ms Yorston (and Spanish with mr Kent but I could live without that)! What am I going to do in freaking Mediagymnasiet?! Only three weeks left and I am losing it. At least Candace is taking me downtown this weekend to show me all the touristy stuff. Might go to Buntzen Lake this weekend with Lillian as well, otherwise we're doing that the weekend after this one. Shall ask Candace if she wants to go up to Grouse Mountain as well, she said at Senior Sail that she wanted to bring me there. Darlene was talking about some Christmas parade downtown as well, going to google that. Darlene's brother is also famous here for the Christmas decorations he puts on his house, the tourtist buses actually stop outside his house, so she's going to take me and Helen there.

AND TO SPEAK SWEDISH ALL THE TIME! That's gonna be soooo lame. Shoot me.

Anyways. Today was a really good day. Had choir first thing in the morning, where I was the German person again. After that I had vocal tech, and I performed my Lucia song (Så mörk är natten). It went really good actually. Gaby said that she really liked my projection and that my tone was really clear. Simona said that she's so fascinated by Swedish. Spanish class after that, where I did my oral presentation with a guy named Jacob. It went really well, I got 18 out of 20 which means there was only one glitch. Me and Jacob were supposed to have a three minute long spontaneous (that means we didn't get to prepare it) conversation about a surprise party in Spanish, and I only have one glitch, and that was that I said fiesta sorpresa instead of fiesta de sorpresa. That was better than anyone in the class, just saying...

Hung out in the film room as usual with Cassy, Catey, Peter, Taylor, Sheila and Candace during lunch. Law after that, don't really remember what we did in class, just remember laughing at Jeff and Cassy. It was fun. Drama after that in which we had a sub teacher called mr Draydale I think. We got a new assignment, we were divided up in groups (I'm with Hannah, Angie and Peter) and each group got to choose a type of historical theatre to base a project upon. We originally chose Renaissance theatre, but I managed to convince the rest of the group to choose Medieval European theatre instead. Sounds so much more fun.

Dance after that during which Alva, Lindsay and Tessa held a bellydance workshop! It was really fun, and I actually did pretty well! It was not like last time when the guys in the class did a workshop in breakdancing, I failed pretty brutally. On Wednesday and Friday, there's going to be a professional bellydancer teaching us bellydancing and salsa I think it was. It's gonna be so much fun!!

Once upon a time (like a month ago or so), there was a Sound of Music performance in Brentwood Mall. I videotaped it, just need to figure out how to post videos on here because I have quite a lot to show you.

Keep talking about that ball of light touching your heart, and she'll come around

Hola! Just got home (a few hours ago) from the movie theatre. At five o'clock, Candace and her mom picked me up outside the house, and we went to the Schmunk house and had tacos for dinner and looked in Candace's old year books. Can't wait 'til I get mine from PMS (yeah, that's my school)! After that, we went to the movie theatre and watched....... drum roll......... HARRY POTTER!! It was soooo good. Maybe even better than the first time I saw it.

Tomorrow's choir, dance and Spanish oral presentation about surprise parties!

Goodnight!

P.S.

It is today the 28th of November, which means.. I only have one month left as a sixteenyearold! Buhuuu! :'(    It also means.. it's my birthday in just a month! Whoop whoop :D

Fast resten säger snabel-a.

1. If you had to get a tattoo, where would you get it?
On my back or ankle.
2. If you had to dye your hair a colour, what colour would it be?
Blonde
3. If you had to get a piercing (that's not your ears), what would you pierce?
Probably my eyebrow/belly button.
If you had to change your name, what new name would you choose?
Could I have been asked a more impossible question? Hm.. Probably Astrid or Freja. Or Marion. ´
4. Would you move anywhere else if you could?
No, Stockholm's the best. If I had to move somewhere else, it'd be somewhere else in Sweden. If I had to move outside of Sweden, it'd be somewhere else in Scandinavia, probably Denmark. If it had to outside of Scandinavia, then probably Canada.
5. If you had the chance to go to Paris, would you go?
Such a stupid question.
6. If you were given 10 million dollars to keep, what would you do?
Oh my God. I would.. like.. I don't even know. Travel like everywhere and buy houses all over the world and buy a castle to live in and hire someone to trick Crown Princess Victoria into changing professions with me so she'd be the one going to Mediagymnasiet and I'd be Crown Princess of Sweden. Mohahahahaha.
7. Let's say you had to eat a live tarantula for $1,000... would you?
N.O.!
8. Let's say you could star in any movie (made or in the works), what movie?
Harry Potter. No doubt. Other movies I'd like to star in are the one about Anne Boleyn with Helena Bonham Carter that I forget the name of, any Johnny Depp movie that has been or will ever be made. Pirates of the Caribbean, of course, but I guess that's included in Depp-movies.
9. What makes your bedroom unique?
Well, the fact that it's my bedroom is pretty unique I guess. As far as I know, there aren't any other bedrooms in the world that are my bedrooms.
10. What's your favourite season of the year?
Winter!
11. Do you like cheese?
On sandwich, yes.

1. Have you had your birthday yet?
Well, if by birthday you mean the day I was born, I'm pretty sure, yes. This year, no.

...... I'm pretty sure I'm not schizofrenic, but you never know!

Yep, blue is still my favourite.
5. Have you got the same style/colour when it comes to hair?

6. Have you bought a new car this year?
Not that I know of, no.
7. Anything exciting happened this year?
Yes, definitely.
8. Have you been involved with the police this year?

My other personality might.
2. Yell a lot?
Don't think so.
3. Want to die?
No, that'd be quite unpleasant.

Never actually thought of it. I guess, since most of my pants are dark.
5. Dye your hair?
Well, I have, but right now it's undyed.

Have you ever...
1. Worn rainbow?
What? Have I ever worn a rainbow? How could I possibly wear a rainbow? What kind of a question is that? Are you drunk?
2. Talked on the phone for over three hours:
I'm not sure but I don't think so.
3. Left the country? Does four months in Canada count?
4. Flashed anyone?
What? I don't even know what these stupid questions are talking about.
5. Had a party with over thirty people?
I've been to a party with over thirty people but I've never thrown one.
6. Stolen something?
I might have taken someone's rubber when I was little, if that counts. Oh yeah, and I took something from my school when I was in grade 1 too, I don't remember what it was. Oh yeah, it was a toy cellphone. I told mum I found it in the forest.
7. Put something on fire?
Uhmmm, no.

5. Brothers/sisters?
One brother, Johnny, and one sister, Helene.
6. Favourite colour?
Blue!
7. Pop?
7-Up.
8. Ice cream?
Ben & Jerry's Half Baked!

Finally...
1. Who is sitting next to you?
Hopefully no one, but you never know with those freaky ghosts. Who knows, Marie Antoinette herself might be reading my Donald Ducks this very second.
2. Favourite sport?
To watch: dance & probably hockey, but I have no idea. To do; dancing, badminton, ice skating, skiing.
3. Been on a plane?
Kind of hard to escape, you know, being from Sweden but currently living in Canada...

You're a rich girl and it's gone too far 'cause you know it don't matter anyway

Came home a while ago from Coquitlam Centre with Candace and her sister Lakita. There are sooo many things I wanna buy, but - I don't! I'm amazing!!

Okay. Time for Spanish studying. Kill me. Tomorrow's hopefully Harry Potter with Lillian and two more people! I will pass out from happiness if it does happen.

27th of November 2010

Tjenixen! Been up for a while now, just been reading. I'm gonna get something to break my fast with and take a shower, and then head out to do something. Don't know what yet, Candace might come. Might go down to Chapters. See yaaaaa'llll!

Let's be jolly, deck the halls with boughs of holly

Time to go to bed already! I have tons of studying to do this weekend, but it'll be done quickly. Hopefully. Now I'm just gonna read and write (diary stuff) and sleeeeeep! Finally. Too bad my bed is freezing.

Too tired to upload the pictures from my cell that I took, so this will suffice until tomorrow morning. Goodnight!

P.S.
It is now illegal to say "merry Christmas" in Canada. Unbelieveable! They base that on that there are so "many" (12% in Canada) who don't celebrate Christmas, and therefor, if someone would make the mistake to wish any of them a merry Christmas, they're worried they'll be offended. As if I, who do celebrate Christmas, would be offended if someone wished me a happy Hanukka! Must be damn bitter people to be offended by such a thing in that case.

However, it is not illegal to wish someone who doesn't celebrate Hanukka a happy Hanukka. Even though the risk of that happening is way bigger since 88% of all Canadians do celebrate Christmas. But apparently, people who celebrate Hanukka get more easily offended. You are from now on not allowed to say "merry Christmas" in Canada, you shall instead say "happy holidays" or "happy winterbreak". Ridiculous!

What's the story? Morning Glory

Today was like one of the funniest days so far. After school, I went to the mall with my friend Lillian, who's like my best friend here. We didn't really know what to do, we were supposed to watch the sixth Harry Potter movie because she hasn't seen it yet, but we couldn't because we didn't have a place to watch it in, because we can't do it at my house because I wasn't sure the DVD player in my room works, and her brother had occupied the tv at her place 'cause it was hockey-night. So we hang out at the mall for like hours and hours just running around being silly. We ended up lying upside down on a bench laughing our heads off at absolutely nothing. And then we went to the movie theatre after hours and hours of walking ten thousand laps around the mall, and watched Morning Glory. It was so good!! The main characters, Becky and Mike, are played by Rachel McAdams and Harrison Ford; two of my favorite actors of all time. It's about Becky, who's an executive producer for a tv-show called Morning Jersey or something like that. She gets fired, and ends up working at a tv-show called DayBreak, which is a show with like two viewers. So her job is basically to get Mike, a very famous and successful old news anchar, to do a shit show like DayBreak, and eventually, the show becomes a success.

After watching that movie, I have this sudden urge to become a journalist. Well, it's at least in the top 7 dream jobs. I think. I don't know why though, the movie had nothing to do with journalists. Oh well.

Walking in a Winter Wonderland ♫♬

Halloj! Trying to do my homework and listen to music and watch Beyonce: I Am... World Tour all at the same time. It's actually working out pretty alright! First Luciapractice was today. The people here that are half Canadian, half Swedish, speak Swedish pretty good, and they speak old fashioned Swedish. So far, I haven't heard one person say the words "ju", "liksom", or "typ". They speak like the kind of the Swedish that one would learn if you'd buy "learn Swedish!"-cds on the Internet. They don't say "hur mår du?", they don't even know what that means. They say "hur står det till?". And I'm talking about the people my age, not the 400-yearolds. Pretty fun. And the Luciasongs, it's all the basic ones. Stilla natt, Staffansvisan (they call it that here instead of Staffan Stalledräng), Nu tändas tusen juleljus, and Glans över sjö och strand. Those are songs that I don't remember ever doing in the Luciatrains I've been in with my choir. We did Staffan Stalledräng, but a complicated version of it. We didn't do the Sankta Lucia-song as.. originally as they do it here. I guess it's because everything Swedish here is more Swedish than it is at home, and they stick to the basics, rather than, what we do, change the songs for every performance. I noticed today that I had gotten used to this complicated version of Sankta Lucia, so I'd always sing in another key or some places a complete different melody than the others. But I snapped back into the "real" one.

Anyways. Yesterday, someone in the office at school announced that we're expecting five centimeters of snow (OHMYGAAAASH WE'LL DROWN IN SNOOOWWW), and because of that, all the students should be watching the news all the time in case they would close the schools. Because apparently, that happens every other day here. I'm like.............. okaaay, five centimeters of snow and society stops..............

School wasn't closed today, but my buses were. Peter told me at school that Hannah's stuck in Heritage Woods. I asked why, and he said the buses to there aren't running. I was like.... I LIVE THERE, how do I get home?! But then I remembered I was going to the Scandinavian Centre after school. But what if it's closed tomorrow too? What'll I do?

Tomorrow's Black Friday in the states too. Black Friday is the night before (I think?) American Thanksgiving when there's a HUGE sale in the states, and everyone goes shopping at midnight. It's apparently extremely insane. I want to go, but there's no way I can get there. Darlene is going with her friend, but they're going tomorrow (Friday) morning at six o'clock am instead, and apparently, none of my friends are going. I don't know. It'd be so much fun to go to Seattle before I go home. Hopefully I will, it's only a two hour drive so I could always ask Candace, she's up for anything and her mom'd drive us to China if we wanted her to.
